Favorite Rembrant Jig

    For those of you that use the rembrant jig what’s your favorite color and size for gills. I Mainly fish the Mississippi river back waters.

    Rembrandts are far more productive for crappies than gills! I seldom catch gills on them. However purple, blood red, or hot pink are my goto crappie colors in the Rembrandt!

    Green with black eyes. Never done any good on crappie with them, but LOTS AND LOTS OF GILLS!

    You use #8 or #10 for the gills? Thanks for the info

    8, the 10 had too small of a hook gap (no gap really) and they would slip it very easily at the hole.

    Huh, kinda funny, I never catch any crappies or gils on em’ but I KILL the perch…

    orange rembrandts works great for Mississippi river gills!

    Oh and when I used to use live bait a lot I would cut the silicone colored part off with a knife and use a waxworm or spikes on the bare hook. Worked awesome!
