I will be heading to FDL to work for a few days and bringing my gear for a bit of fishing after work. I have heard from some locals to not waste my time on Winnebago. Any locals know of a better lake or why to avoid Winnebago?

    Thanks

probably telling you to avoid lady ‘bago because it’s still wide open. this cold weather might start freezing up the bays if the wind dies down. there are a few lakes “in the area”. i’m not familiar with them though. not sure how the ice is on fox lake or little green. might be worth a drive up 45 toward oshkosh along winnebago…there are a few bays people might be out on, you’ll likely see them from the road. there are a couple more bays north of oshkosh. otherwise, call up a few of the tackle shops in the area and see if they have any decent leads worth checking out.
