I spent the afternoon yesterday checking ice conditions on one of our Inland lakes and found that most of the lake in the area that I was in had concistant ice from 3 to 4 inches. After feeling safe enough to get a little fishing in I punched a series of holes and jigged for panfish for a couple hours but the fishing was quite slow. I managed to put a couple nice gills on the ice along with losing a larger fish on 2lb test line before it got dark. It sure was good to get out for the first time and even though fishing was slow I had a great time just being out there.
