Hunting was tough so I called it a season. Went out to check the thickness of the ice on Big Blake north of Amery and it is a solid 4 inches. Clear blue ice, but I normally have issues catching fish in shallow water without a little now cover. I’d still be cautious going out for a while.
My guess is other lakes in the area are about the same thickness and it looks like I will need some creepers. It is slick as glass. Let’s hope for plenty of ice before the snow comes.
