rope lights ? if so, I zip tied mine to the pole overhead, slightly behind me when sitting. I also run a full size group 27 deepcycle, run my lights, camera, phone charger and anything else 12v, lasts all weekend

Ya rope lights and did u make your own sections? What rope did u use? I’d like it to plug into a socket that clips to battery.

You want these, they have directionality so you can “aim” them towards where you want the light. I have tried the rest, and I always go back to these. I’d rather have the light pointed at my holes and one behind me than ambient throughout the entire shelter.

Those rubberized led strips are old technology and not very robust. Do a search for samsung 5630 light bar, they cost about $20 each and are very durable. I ordered around 20 last year and not one has had an issue. You can use the cord from any 12 volt wall adapter, they take standard 12volt 2.1mm barrel plugs and can pass a current for other devices or lights in series.

Big G: you pull a group 27 around in your sled? isn’t that a bit heavy?

check out the new Clam Light bars. I have these in my two portables and it lights them up like it is high noon. the one I even added a remote controlled 12 volt dimmer to and that has been nice, I can dial the lights down just enough to see with out being overly blinded like when on fully.

I use these and they work great, you can get them real cheap off Amazon or Ebay. I have 3 strips plus a LED light set that came with my Jason Mitchell Pro. They are all hooked up to a 12v flasher battery that is strapped into the tub. Super cheap and simple, and the whole shelter is lit up like a christmas tree.

Call it old technology if you want but they simply work, and work well.

No idea, there’s a bunch to choose from that are virtually the same, just do a search.

I made sure to pick some that were shipped from the US rather than overseas… paid a few cents or maybe a dollar more per strip but cut down shipping by 2-3 weeks

    I’m a big fan too, obviously…

But these lights are really bright, rugged, and rigged for use in a portable.

Just bought a Clam light stick. I agree about the “high noon” part. Very bright! Dimmer switch is a good idea.

Until the light start going out or you get bad lights right out of the package. The owner is a joke when it comes to customer service. He probably has an account on IDO and will post as a customer trying to hide behind these issues. I use some from another company that are brighter, more durable, and by far cheaper that the “Northern Dark Lights”

If you would like info on where to get them, send me a message.

I have a couple strings of the 96cm led lights for my portables, and they work great. A couple I made rigid “rails” for them and hang them up above door area, or over middle. Light it up great. I have them so they can be taken out easily, and hooked to extra vex battery.
