    Same idea as automatic fisherman, but IMHO more parts to get froze up, lost or twisted up

    There are tricks to them to avoid line freeze up.

    Only use glass rods, graphite will snap. They can be set light. A lot of guys in Skoni use autosetters for trout. Wish MN would allow them, I dont get to use mine much.

    before buying these check out the “dangler” tip down less abuse on your rods and gives the fish to take the bait down they have ones with a flag and ones without

    I have 5-6 0f them. They work great on trout and I think they would be fine on perch. Do not get the trigger mechanism wet or they are DONE! Just toss it away from the hole before you land the fish. I like to use Ugly Stick rods with them due to being bullet proof and giving a good hook set. I use them with my kids most of all.
