Don’t do it!
I’ve heard there’s nothing that will kill the bite faster than and IDO ice fishing get-to-gether.jeff_hubertyInactivePosts: 4941November 14, 2013 at 1:01 pm #1364080Quote:

Had a couple on Mille Lacs too. But yeah, that did kill the bite.

Webster, SD great multispecies for everybody.
Great location, but with the way the weather can be out there you better plan for a 3 day GTG so you can get in one day of fishing.
What about the Mississippi back waters? Maybe Alma or Nelson areas?

^yeah that, border waters don’t require an out of state resident license.

No offense meant to the other suggestions at all but this is definitely a great destination. I’d attend if the dates worked out.

ditto, I wouldn’t mind getting out and fishing in the motherland. I bet TG002 would be in as well.
November 16, 2013 at 1:41 pm #1364477Sounds like we need a couple regional GTG. Maybe I’ll do a medicine lake metro gtg. I’ll still go to a backwater/St Croix gtg or others close.
November 17, 2013 at 9:39 am #1364544I have been to alot of places ice fishing.. But never have I been to the Dakotas..
I’m in !!!
November 18, 2013 at 7:33 pm #1364832I have to admit it would be cool if I could swing it. Some of the pictures of those Dakota Jumbos have made me very envious.
November 18, 2013 at 8:47 pm #1364858Should we pick a fish species to target than pick a destination or free for all.
I’ve never fished those huge perch and white fish would be fun to get since I’m getting good at smoking rainbow trout.
If it is a out of town destination can we try and get a group rate on lodging?

We’ll pitch in and buy you a replacement.I’m thinking about my own GTG. Maybe a metro lake and/or the Horseshoe chain for cats. Our family puts one on at Linwood (Wyoming, Mn) every year as well for family and friends.

Okay, what is the story? Inquiring minds want to know. At least who to point the finger and laughter at.

That sounds good, would be nice to meet and fish with other members.
November 19, 2013 at 8:33 am #1364938The Linwood one is at the end of the walleye/pike/bass season in February, probably 2 weeks before it. It depends on when the rest of the family is vacationing. Last year we did it on the last day of the season and there was a sucker shortage!
