Navionics App – Upper Red Lake

I’m making my first trip up to URL this January and wanted to do some pre-planning on my Navionics app in advance. However, I just found out that it’s not covered. Is there a special chip that’s needed for the lake? Otherwise I’m worried about flying blind while up there.

Can’t help with your question, but Navionics sd cards along with Lake Master and Lowrance pro map sd cards all have Red.
The link below will let you zoom in on red and maybe at least get an idea of what you are looking at out there. Not alot of structure or depth.

The Navionics App on my iPhone has 5′ contours. You have to zoom in to 0.2 mile scale to see them.

I still have the Navionics lakes north on my phone and it shows 1′ contours.

Huh, my iPhone has just 5′ contours. Do you have a different app or operating system? I have Navionics USA.

Just checked and navionics for android says “UNSURVEYED AREA” for all of red lake, upper and lower.

Check out these screen shots from the web app on the Navionics website, the top photo shows the boundary, the 2nd shot is “Nautical Charts” and the last shot is “Sonar Charts” which is available on Nav + and Hotmaps Platinum and works in certain Humminbird and Lowrance units. You can also get the Sonar Charts layer on the iphone and ipad app.

My Navionics – US & Canada (the cheap $15 version) for my android phone shows what you see in moreyes screenshots.

I have to zoom way in to the .05 mi scale to see the 1′ contours.

I forgot to say mine is on a droid Maxx and it is the older Navionics lakes north that they don’t offer anymore that I know of.
