Green Bay Possible Trip?

    Morning all,

I was thinking about taking a trip with the wife this year. We always travel together ice fishing. She is actually a real good stick. What I was wondering is this. What about running to Green Bay and fishing for Walleye, Perch, Whiteys etc? I would like to have a guide for safety only because we have sled our own sleds, Otter etc. Does anyone know who might be willing to help us out? I don’t need a full guide trip, just some help. Of course I would be willing to pay something, just don’t need the full blown package.

I was looking at either LBDN (again); Simcoe; or just short runs to Saginaw Bay. I read some articles how Green Bay can be a good time and that’s still within our 6 hour drive time.

    Thanks!

Do not plan on catching a lot of Perch, numbers are just not there. Walleye and Whitefish would be the main species.

If you are ever looking for another couple to fish with let me know, my GF and I love to fish and it’s always more fun with more people. I contacted a few guides last year about a trip, we never made it but hope to this year. Little Bay De Noc is another good area.

Brett is a highly recommended guide in that area.

After having such a blast with the whitefish trip, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to LBDN for walleyes. I don’t think that bite is what it once was… For a nice place to stay, check out Sand Bay Beach Resort. It’s owned by Dale Strochein who is another guide up there, but I think he does more of a full guide service. Nice place, angler friendly complete with a fish cleaning house and close to an access point out to the whitefish grounds. If you’re looking to go on the cheap, you can find cheaper accomodations in Sturgeon Bay. Chal-A Motel would be my choice for a cheap room. As mentioned by another poster, look elsewhere for perch.
