If so what do you use to measure the 1.5oz per gallon?
Anything I’ve looked at only goes down to 2oz and I hate guessing.

I buy it in premeasured foil packets. One pack to a gallon of gas.

    Well,being the tightwad I am,I bought a quart.
    I figured I’ll get 20 gallons per quart….Works out to about .60 per gallon….

I use Amsoil just not sure its the Saber. I would have to go check down in the shed. It is synthetic and for my Strikemaster I mix it 80:1. I have several friends that mix it 100:1. My auger after using the Amsoil at 80:1 runs much better and less smoke.

use a dosing cup for kids medicines, or ask your pharmacy if they have one to give out with liquids.

Yes- One packet to a gallon of gas works great. Broke my Strike Master in on this stuff. I first started with 2 packets then went to one. Plug stays clean, takes off on the third pull when cold, then starts on the first the rest of the day. Best 2 cycle oil on the market, also use it on all my 2 cycle tools for home use, weed eater, blower, and they all work great.I was doubtful, when I first started with this stuff. Do not be like me,I was a skeptic till I started with this oil,not any more. (fatfish) Jerry

Just make sure you remember which shot glass is for drinking and which one is for oil. Use the wrong one and you might just “get your motor running” in ways you didn’t want it to run.

Has anyone used Amsoil HP Injector oil in their auger? I found almost a full gallon in my mom’s garage, dad must of bought it for his boat gas. I could use it in my snowmobile, but I would think it would work in any 2 stroke.

No such thing as a standard shot glass, they come in all sorts of different sizes. The most common is 2oz, but they range from 1.25-2.5oz. Besides its like measuring water with a coke can, its not going to be exact.

Go find yourself a big syringe so you know you are getting exactly the right amount of oil.

Mudshark-a standard shot is not 1.5 oz. Shot glasses come in many, many, sizes, don’t use that.

I appreciate the thoughts guys..I really do

    But I already know this….

I have a few and they all are marked by ounce…I’ve worked as a bartender a few times in my life

1.5oz/gallon is 80:1 and Saber is rated 100:1 so I do not have to be that exact..

I have already mixed a gallon and this method works fine for me….no problems….you have to remember…I like to do things on the cheap

Speaking of cocktails, mix in a shot or so of Seafoam with the Amsoil as well. That’s a mix that many of us have been running in our Strikemasters for years with good results!

Is there anyone in the La Crosse area that handles Amsoil products?

I use ams oil pro saber oil 100-1. I buy the bottle that has 5 gallons worth of oil (7OZ) in it with measurements on the side to mix with each gallon. The bottle is $4.50 at Ace Hardware. I combo it with ams oil quickshot fuel stabilizer and have seen a night and day difference in my auger throttling and almost zero smoke and junk coming out of it. If you’re not a believer you better start!

I’m another happy Amsoil Saber user. I run it 80 – 100:1 with Seafoam in non-ox fuel and my auger screams like a nest of angry hornets.

Right-on! Good description too. I’ve been running that setup too long with great results to see a reason to do it any other way.

Is it too late to switch to saber and non-ox if you’ve already been running inferior oil and oxygenated fuel?

Nope, I ran a heavy dose of dino-oil in my old Lazer mag before switching and noticed easier starting right off the bat. I feel there’s less smoke, but this effect is greater when mixing it leaner.

I will say that I’m following mfrs. specs on the ratios instead of the 80:1 or 100:1 ratio that many are mixing per Amsoil recommendations. I know Amsoil claims to back up their oil to engine defects when mixing this lean, but I opt for the safe route by mixing to spec.

From the Solo manual for my current Lazer Pro:

To operate your engine you will need to use a clean, high-quality,
2-cycle oil mixed with fuel at a ratio of 40:1 (3.2 fl . oz. to 1 gallon of
gas). DO NOT use a fuel/oil mixture leaner than 50:1 (2.6 fl . oz. to 1
    gallon of gas)

    Hopefully that helps!

Use Amsoil Saber with confidence! Amsoil synthetic saber is probably superior to any OE 2 cycle oil recommended by your manufacturer that you dont need to always specifically adhere to their recommended specs unless running generic dino 2 cycle oil.

100:1 premix 1.5 oz packs on 1 gallon running straight 5+ years on all my augers i’ve used from Strikemaster, Eskimo and Nils Tanaka. Not a single issue. However I would caution how you use SeaFoam; especially if your using it regularly. With Amsoil Saber; its likely Seafoam is not needed. Run it at the end of the season instead for storage.

I’ve had good luck at these ratios with other items too(snowblower, weed whip, etc.) but do realize that mixing to those levels will void engine warranties should problems arise. Again, Amsoil says they stand behind their oil in that manner, I just don’t have any personal experiences or knowledge of cases where that claim has been financially backed-up.

Mixing to any other then what the manufacturer generally recommends would void warranty regardless unless otherwise noted. Its possible one could argue your more likely to have more sludge deposit build ups; wear & tear or damage running the regular recommended non synthetic or dino oil mix in the long run? In part your still running basically what a manufacturer recommends shall it be from Strikemaster or Amsoil. However your gonna get all sorts of arguements and recommendations.

I use it and mix about 85 to 1 with a Seafoam bracer.

I have an Amsoil application chart on my garage wall and it says HP Injector is NOT recommended for that application.
