Just curious what everyone uses for a winter bait bucket? I really like the Frabill 1469 (Aqua-Life Personal bait Station). The aeration keeps it from freezing in freezing temps (I fish alot outside a shelter) and the built-in night light is great when fishing those late nights for walleyes. If you haven’t seen this one……..check it out!!! What does everyone else like?

I’ve taken a small cooler and injected expanding foam in air space between the walls of the main body and lid. Works very well for my needs. I do have an aerator that I made for it that I can run off either batteries or 18 amp accessory battery in my sled. In all honesty though, I don’t use it that much and simply add lake water as needed throughout the day. I guess that last part is illegal in MN though.

It isn’t illegal to add lake water… You just have to transfer it to non lake water when you leave the lake… I do this by gathering an extra bucket of snow to thaw while I’m fishing and then dump the minnows into that when I leave. Just make sure you either float em first or ensure the water temps between buckets are the same or you’ll shock em.

2 gallon water cooler. Put screens over the spigots so bait doesn’t restrict flow when I need to dump old water out and add new water.

As long as its not VHS infested waters you do not need to exchange your bait water while ice fishing in MN
