I enjoy these threads because we get to see some creative minds at work. As for what I personally have to contribute, here’s a place to start.
October 17, 2013 at 1:48 am #1200885I have the large Otter Monster Box with rod case and auger attachments and it is the cats meow for transporting gear for multiple anglers.
October 17, 2013 at 11:31 am #1200912Here is my rig, this was from a couple of winters ago. I typically don’t put much at all in my sled anymore instead preferring to keep of it, especially the electronics, over the suspension of the ATV. The Otter rod case is generally carried on the other side of the box but it’s not on in this pic. Also, the bait cooler goes in the bucket holder and the bucket is typically the only thing in the sled.
This year, tracks have been added (I don’t have pics yet) as we get more than your average amount of snow over here on the Keweenaw.
I realize this isn’t the most economical way to attack our snow depth (314″ last year) but I much prefer the increased utility of an ATV over a sled, increased carrying capacity and the fact that I have only a single vehicle to maintain, register, etc.

Are you also transporting a second angler? I take my neighbor with allot and Im not going to say his girth is huge but at 6′ Id say he’s carrying about 40 more pounds then he needs to. with the back box is there enough room for 2 adult men?
October 17, 2013 at 4:34 pm #1200968I made a quick disconnect rack for the back of mine out of a old piece of ladder stand and sprayed it with bedliner spray. It doubled the amount of stuff I could haul. Just take out 2 pins and its off and out of the way.
October 18, 2013 at 12:21 am #1201042I too switched from a sled to a Grizzly 700 to pull my Otter. I picked up a kolpin scout box for the rear rack to hold my electronics, everything else can stay in the Otter. I’m excited for the flexibility a quad offers over a sled, I can also get everything to fit on a 10′ Single place snowmobile trailer.

Switched around not using flipover anymore. So everything has to go on quad..
BurrPosts: 98October 24, 2013 at 8:38 pm #1202189In 2011 I had the rod holders mounted on my drop basket, moved them to the front auger rack the second year. Like them on the auger rack. Will be adding an Otter box (medium size) this year to move more of the weight on top of the suspension. I put heavier shocks on the rear.
Like the front auger carrier, but I’m going to add a clamp down to both sides. Like the rod holders in front, very mobile, fast, and protects the rods from damage. With the tracks the Otter box will guard items from getting snow dust on them. It’s a lot worse with tracks than it was with wheels.
I’ll leave the drop box on if it fits, mostly to not put some of those items inside the Otter box. But the drop basket will be used very lightly – if it fits when it gets here. If the drop basket doesn’t fit with the Otter, I’ll get a gas carrier, and bucket carrier attachments for the Otter.
It’s nice having one Ice fishing rig instead of 1 quad and 1 snowmobile.
Other upgrades are some electrical things, including hand warmers.
BoxPosts: 38October 28, 2013 at 11:17 pm #1202697Not a very good pic but all I have… Have auger rack on front, can’t recall name, but I don’t think they make it anymore. Works great though.
Rear drop basket which I love. Three buckets, or cooler and <add your gear here>. I can take it off quickly but I have not found reason to yet in a few years. On top of the front part is a black rear bag luggage which works awesome to keep things dry, non dusty, cushioned (three LX5s fit width wise, or any variation of electronics). Also is nice as second person can kind of sit on/in front of and it holds them there nicely.
Weight in the rear basket so far back can make it light on the front wheels for steering though, so have to watch that a bit. I have an Otter rod box that fits in the rear rack along with buckets, but I have to strap it down a bit.
