Generally speaking, any kind of gear you buy from Under Armor is of the top quality, I have had awesome experience with all of my UA products from sweatshirts down to shoes and socks. I don’t own the base layer 3.0 but the 2.0 was phenomenal I though for ice fishing. Pros: warm, easy fit, seems to hold heat in extremely well. The con as always with UA products would have to be the price, but IMHO you can’t go wrong with it if you plan on using it for hunting or fishing. Hope this helps.

I have the 3.0 and I think it’s well worth the money. Most of the time I wear the 3.0 only under my Arctic Armor bibs.
It wicks the sweat away very well too. You just have to be careful if your walking because you can get real warm real fast.

I dont like to fit of the some of their fits of the tops. Tight in shoulders and tends to pull shoulders back uncomfortably.
“eh, you know where the weight room is”… yeah, like that.
Id try them on first rather than order blind.

I don’t have a Wheeler or sled so I walk to most my fishing spots, unless there’s roads, so would you guys recommend the 2.0 or 3.0…I don’t want to be sweating my $alls off by the time I get there…most walks are .25 -.75 miles

What kind of outerwear do you fish in? I love the 3.0 but when walking I do not wear my outerwear to fishing locations. I will walk there and after 10-15 minute cool down period put my outerwear on. I have several different suit I wear depending on temps and ice conditions. The U/A 3.0 is very warm stuff and is a good moisture transferring insulator. You will not be disappointed.

IMO / experience – merino wool base layers will keep you warm when sitting still and wick moisture away during exertion WAY better than any synthetic ever will. They also dont get that funky smell after wearing for a day or two. You will not regret going merino wool

Under Armour makes some great products like stated though you will usually pay for it. As far as the “fit” of UA clthing goes i fish outside and do alot of hole hopping. With all the drilling and bending down and crouching under armour you dont get any of the binding or riding up if you knwo what I mean. Just my two cents – QB

There is no comparison between wool and U/A in my experience. 90% of the wool I have is retired to the basement or has been given away. Until you’ve actually tried U/A cold gear you’ve got no idea how awesome it is. The moisture management is 5 times superior to wool. Far as scent control it’s also not of comparison between them.

SCent when ice fishing….thats all part of it, you know you have been fishing hard when the hotel room has a funk after 3 days… – QB

The 3.0 might be a little bit too warm for us guys that like to hole hop alot…I think I might stick with the 2.0 but I think the 3.0 will be perfect for those “sit and fish” guys.
