Just curious if any of you guys could give me some details on this, I am looking at getting the 1 man cottage, my question to you is well I be able to fit 2 of these in a short box F-150? I was thinking that if you put 2 in the wide way it would work, would like to hear some first hand experience though. Thanks

Checkout the Otter Ordering Page to be sure. From experience, measuring is the only way to be sure. Below are the cottage dimensions.

SIZE – SETUP DIMENSIONS – COLLAPSED DIMENSIONS

    Cottage (1 Man) – 54″L x 77″D x 63″H – 54″L x 32″D x 18″H

Also, if there’s room, I’d highly recommend one of the pivot hitches. Makes loading and re-connecting a breeze in the wind, cold, and snow.

    Good luck!

Pivot hitches are an absolute time saver! Can’t imagine rigging without them now.

Completely agreed. I was always good for losing about 2 connector pins per winter. Cold fingers and deep snow always made it tough.

Thankfully I didn’t drop too many but I hated taking the extra time to hitch and unhitch to get the sled read for the ice and loading back into my truck respectively. I’m all about organization and efficiency and having pivot hitches makes life much much easier. Now if I can just squirrel away enough cash to pick up an enclosed 12′ or so drive-on/drive-off trailer, I’ll be really happy. No breaking/packing down the gear, no unhitching, no strapping/unstrapping and covering/uncovering the ATV…everything stays together and is protected from road salt.

Thanks for the advice. I have the XT1200 Lodge on its way and now I’ll know to get the swivel hitch also.

Pivot Hitch and Sportsman Caddy are the 2 things I will always have with my Otters…
