Looking for a Laker Rod

Last winter I made my first trek into the BWCA do some winter camping and laker fishing. I brought my stiffer walleye rod and found that wasn’t enough as I missed 8 hits and never brought one up on the rod. Did get some nice ones on tip ups. So planning the trip again now, what rods should I look at?

We do have a new laker rod now. What lengths are you looking for?

I guess I don’t really know. Will be fishing outside. What length’s do you have and what do you suggest. What are prices?

They start at $79 and up from there. The Laker rods are usually longer. I suggest the 38″ because then it fits in a case.

Personally we usually do a reel seat on the rod because of the stress on the handle fighting a big laker. Laker rods are stocked in a 38″ and 44″. I have a few in stock right now. Come over one night to the shop and take a look at them.

More info on the TUC Laker rod would be sweet! Blank specs, available options (handles, guides, etc.), and pricing please.

Post it here or feel free to PM me.

Looking for something around 36″ with moderate action.

The blank is our LTP blank (lake trout Pike/Pout). It is a solid glass blank.

Guide options on the lower priced ones $79.99 are ceramic with an EVA foam handle. This has a reel seat and is very durable for extreme conditions.

We can do a cork handle for and additional $5, Rec guides for an additional $20.

These have more options too them too. Baitcaster, Spinning, spiral wrapped.

It is best to call us on this one.

    Lengths are 36″-50″.

Sounds pretty sweet, and a good rod definitely helps you get more fish to the hole. I’m sure those rods would be great Pike rods too. The rods John makes are awesome, they seem to just fit what you imagined
