I’ve always gone the dry storage route mentioned in the link. In addition I spray fogging oil in the cylinder via the spark plug hole and air intake then pull it over a few times to evenly distribute.
I put in about 1 tablespoon of seafoam, and run it for about 3 to 5 min.,to get it in the carb. I take some chain bar lube and paint my blades, get them good and oily coated. Good steal rust,so do this to. Never had a problem. A lot better than spending $60 t0 $100 every year to get it fixed. Also ,I never use cheep gas,all prenium gas.
It’s in the storage link, but thought I would mention, if you store with gas, open the breather for the gas tank. I think some issues have developed in past years because I skipped that step. I’m going to make sure my gas tank can breath this year so when the weather warms, and the gas expands, it might solve the weird carb problems I’ve had the last couple of years.

Good point. I lightly seat the vent even when draining the tank to avoid this.
