18 in. Crappie Mount/Pic

    Last fall I caught this and had it mounted. Its now on the wall next to a 17 i got in 2011.

    Yea, I want one! Released three 15″er’s this fall hoping it creates good karma.

    Hey cycleguy!!! I released a few that just missed going on the wall myself…hoping for the “Karma” to someday come my way!! I’m not quite holding myself to 17″ but anything that sweeps the 16″ mark will pridefully adorn my wall!!! Nice crappy, bee!!!!!

    Well this makes me feel bad now. I’ve got a 15.5″ in the freezer from this season that’s going on the wall, but my dad does my taxidermy for me so it’s not that big of a deal I guess haha

    I have a 15″ on the wall as well… and it looks great, you’ll be proud of it. I spend a decent amount of time in the fall looking for big crappies, and I would have a hard time not mounting a 16. Those are big crappie…. I know a lot of people that fish often and have never caught a 14, so be happy with the 15.5! I went a lot of years before getting the 15 I mounted. It often is about the circumstances behind it that makes it a real trophy. Mine was caught at 11:30 at night while ice fishing…. so to me it was a really special thing as I may never see another like that from the ice.

    Cycleguy’s absolutely right!!! A 15″ Crappie is a darn nice fish and depending where you are, they’re quite rare!!! I’m trying to stick to my 16″ mark but if I get another 15″er, I’ll surely have to think about it!!!

    I myself have the magic 16″ mark for crappies on my mount list. A few years ago I took my aunt out fishing on Red Lake for some Memorial Day walleye fishing and she caught a 16 3/4 inch crappie and just wanted her picture taken with it. I thought about a replica or just mounting the fish for myself since she didn’t want to. I would have even put her name on the plaque.

    holy cow, I couldn’t even imagine seeing either that 18 or 19″ coming up the hole…I would definately need some new underwear haha…NICE FISH
