Automatic Hook-Set

    Anyone know if automatic hook-set rodholers/tip-ups are legal in Iowa? Just built one for the heck of it out of scraps I had here and from testing in the garage it looks very functional. I know they are not legal in MN, but cannot find anything saying I cant use them in Iowa. I would count it as a rod, not a tip-up just to be safe.

    I believe they are legal here. I’ve seen them used before and was told they were legal last winter, although that was coming from a guy selling them at a fishing show.
