The last 2 years ive really gotten into fishing being that my dad wasnt into it much and now I have a job.. I found out about the wonderful technique of vertical jigging. I was wondering if many people use their flashers during the summer to jig for fish.

Ok, what about using a chubby darter. I fish mostly walleyes on mille lacs outta malmo bay. I know lindy rig is a good way to go, but last summer, the first summer with my own boat, I tryed jigging raimbows on the carlsona humps and did fair. Hoping to buy a bigger boat this summer vecause the one I have is a 35 horse merc I don’t trust, then ill cruse to the rocks.

You will find that it works perfect in the boat. Deadly on Crappies in Late Sept and Oct. Flasher at 33 crappies somewhere from 33-18….

Flasher is real time…helps alot. Especaily if you have a narrow cone.

    Using mine for years!!!

Works great and just get a different transducer that will mount to the boat. Makes for a great portable locator and will run off the 12 volt battery that may already be in you boat.

I use my flasher in the summer off of docks. When we go to minnesota for vacation I take the marcum out on the long docks and jig bluegill/crappie just like ice fishing. When in the boat I just use the graph with the sensitivity up enough to pick up my jig.

I just received the dual beam open water transducer for my lx7. I run a power drive minkota with the built in sonar transducer and looked into an adapter cable. My research resulted in an education on transducers. Marcum uses 2 crystals, one for each beam, the result is a highly accurate return and the resultant high performance of the Marcum unit. Huminbird uses one crystal for both beams on their dual beams. They mearly run different frequencies through the one crystal. I hate to say, but it’s a cost saving compromise. In the end, I’m glad to have spent the extra coin on a dedicated transducer specifically designed for my Marcum unit. I plan on running my Huminbird with GPS on the bow mounted trolling motor and placing the marcum transducer on a portable aluminum transom mount on the back. Hopefully minimizes any interfearance.
