I have a mag 2000 (i think its 5-6 years old) with the tecumsah motor. Has the 8.25″ chipper drill on it. My question is this enough engine to be able to jump up to a 10 inch chipper or how about a 10 inch lazer? Thoughts anyone?

Mine came with a 10″ and I went down to an 8. I do notice the faster and easier cutting with the smaller bit.

Mine also has the 10″. I am for sure going smaller. It can drill a 10″ hole but it becomes a workout after a few.

I run a 20 yr old laser mag w/ the old standard 49cc Tecumseh. It has turned a 10″ laser bit for thousands and thousands of hole and is still going strong. Yours will do fine with one.

Seems slow. My brother got a 10″ last year and it takes what seems like forever to drill a hole. I’m sure is just because it is 10 inches and it only has one blade. My Mako 8″ has 2 blades and cuts in half the time obviously. By no means is it a race to drill as many holes as possible.
