The 3rd Annual CW3 Phil Windorski Jr Memorial youth fishing tourny took place yesterday in Grand Rapids. (Phil was a helicopter pilot who was killed in Iraq.)
Hats off to all of those who contributed to making the event a ton of fun.
I’m proud to say that my 9 year-old won first prize (weighing roughly 20 minnow-sized perch for a total weight of about 26 ounces). The first place prize was a 2 day/2 night ice fishing trip to Rainy River Resort.
Special thanks to the sponsors (Rainy River Resort, Vexilar & Glenn’s Surplus) for their contributions. The tourny honors Phil and his service, it honors all of our fallen servicemen and gets kids fishing. Doesn’t get much better than that.
