    Cube or flip over?
    What brands are good?
    What type works best?
    what is a good deal?
Thinking about getting into ice fishing.
Local Tractor Supply has a two man Eskimo flip over for $369.
Seems heavy though. one man better?

Why is weight an issue? Do you have a tow vehicle like an ATV, or is it because you have to lift it in or out of a truck?

Depends on your needs. The two man would be nice if you have gear and a heater to fit in with you. One man shacks are nice and light but can be tight on room. I recommend going to a store with a few set up and sit in them all and see what fits your needs. Seating can be a big deal breaker as well, go for comfort!! I have the 3 man Eskimo Quickflip and durability and comfort have not been a problem! You will get some ford vs. chevy debate but buy within your budget and function. Insulated are nice but add weight and $$$.

Ditto. Now is a great time to try them out on the floor, and get a great price.
Don’t be shy about grabbing a plastic pail from the shelf to see if it will crowd your efforts. I got mine about this time last year, and (even though I didn’t need it much for protection) I was able to see what I had. To adjust to make it quite comfortable! Good luck, and welcome onto the ice!

My wife likes to fish so it was a no-brainer to get one capable of two people. I also wanted one I could stand up in so that really narrowed down the choices to those with height at least 74″. This was a couple years ago and we waited til mid-January when they were on sale. Happened to get a great clearance price on a Frabill Guardian. Otter Pro Lodge looks to be very similar.
I love the larger sled to haul my auger, buckets, bait tote, tackle, lunch cooler, heater, LX-5. It all fits perfectly. The specs say it’s like 110 pounds but that can’t be. The width of the sled makes it slide nicely, though deep snow makes it more work. A longer rope makes it easier to pull.
I move a lot so I like being able to just flip up, drag it a little bit and fish again with no takedown/setup. Even when I’m by myself I like all the room to spread out my stuff. I always have two holes to jig with each hand and I can put the heater to the side. I still have room to drill another hole when I am able to acquire a camera. I’d be too cramp in a one-man shelter.
I can also load into the truck by myself with the proper technique, despite the large sled.
I’d definitely get the same one again. I just sent an inquiry to Frabill to see what it costs to get the thermal cover to replace the standard fabric. Even with the standard fabric, the little buddy on low keeps it comfy enough to unzip the coat and take gloves off.
