I just bought the lazer mag pro but am considering taking back for the 4 stroke honda. Anyone have experience with both, if so what did you like or not like about either?

I would be curious how the 4 stroke would start with a frozen crankcase full of oil ? I have used the pro mag and it is a lot easier
to start and carry around than my 3 hp jiffy .

I would like to know how the Honda 4 stroke strikemaster compares to the subaru 4 stroke strikemaster… I can tell you the Pro Lazer is a killer machine! If your into punching a lot of holes look no further.

I bought the solo lazer pro last year and I now wish the honda was available. The solo engines are poor starters, great when running but it always takes 8 pulls. They went backwards when they went with the solos over the tecumseh. I would look at the Icegator augers.

What is your starting procedure? I have a Lazer pro and it only takes 3-4 pulls max. I pump the primer 3-4 times, hit the decompression button, and 1-2 pulls until it “pops” on full choke. 1-2 more pulls on half choke and she’s up and roaring.

Wow, I agree never had a problem with the Solo. 2-3 pulls here… bummer.

No issues here as well. Always 1-2 pulls, 3 if it sits out in the cold overnight.

I purchased the Honda earlier this fall. I used it all week this week in the well below zero temps. (coldest -15*) After priming it 2 times with choke on….two pulls. It has never taken more than 3 pulls to start this baby. It does take a couple minutes to warm up but dont they all. Im at least 200-300 holes with this auger and I have not one bad thing to say about it. I would recomend it to anyone!
