There is no power head that I know of packaged with a 7″ bit. Maybe Strikemaster, not Eskimo, not Nils, not Jiffy.

There all generally 8″ or bigger.

thorne brothers has strikemaster solo augers the 2.5 hp model with a 7″ bit.. other wise im pretty sure you could get a nils too. I have the SM with the 7 and love it. its a touch faster and lighter than an 8 and I have yet to have issues with a fish getting through a 7 inch hole as well.

Also if a fish does get off it has a harder time turning in a smaller hole. For me they seem to come up the hole once in it.

No, because if it is not a nils it is a POS. If its not the best (marcum lx 5 or lx7, nils with tanka, bb 6061 on thorn bros rods) it is a POS to him.

I have a 7 inch Lazer auger (originally a hand version) afixed to my strikemaster powerhead. It works great and I am happy with my hole size. I went with a 7 inch because of the weight. I tried to balance my need for less weight with my need for hole diameter and the 7 inch works for me.

At the time the power auger blades were only offered in 8 inch but the hand auger could be had in 7 inch. I opted to by a 7 inch hand and adapt it to my powerhead.
