I am looking to purchase a handheld GPS to use for ice fishing. I am looking for something I can use with my Lakemaster Chip. If anyone has any thoughts on which one would be best, let me know!

What are peoples thoughts on the Lowrance Endura™ Out&Back Handheld GPS…….I like the price point on this. I only plan on using it on the ice with my lakemaster chip so i dont need all the bells and whistles associated with some of the $300+ units.

I find my droid works great for ice fishing.. not only do you have GPS and for 10 buck get navionics maps.. but its your radio, camera and of course you phone!..

I too, have the Navionics app for Droid and like it for the most part. I wish it included a “go to” feature to guide you back to markers and other points rather than make you look down and hit the gps button every so often to navigate to these spots

I have an Endura Safari, thinking I was upgrading from my iFinder h20C. The endura is very disappointing – a major step backward from the iFinder – so check out the Garmin products. I doubt Lakemaster works in any Lowrance product anymore.

I have used the Garmin 60CSX for the last 3 years with the Garmin Inland Lake chip. Has all the lakes in North America.
Great for me because I ice fish Iowa, S.D., Mn & Wis.
I found the best deal off of Amazon. Solid unit!

    yo erode..

I know this isnt as handy as a goto function but if you find yourself on the lake wanting to go to one of your locations simply zoom out and make a new route from your location to your destination then you can zoom back in and follow..

but i to agree a goto function would be a big improvment…

    good fishing guys!

Gun, I guess I hadn’t thought to do that. I’ll try that. It has to be easier than what I’m doing now. Thanks, E.

    +1

Have it matched up with a Garmin compat Lakemaster chip and have really enjoyed using it. I plot try spots on Basecamp (linked with handheld so that bath map is accessable), upload to the handheld and then verify on ice. Works very well for me.
