Is 13 fishing a sponsor of this board? I have a question about another product I want to ask, but if 13 fishing is a sponsor I won’t post it… its kinda going against one of their top products. (not a problem or review)

What is the difference between the new hot “invention” of the BB6061 at $100+ each and the 6061 raft reels that have been around for years and look nearly identical with the same features? You can import the raft reels for as little as $25-30 each if you buy in bulk.

Nothing. Same reels just repackaged as 13 fishing.

Doesnt the 6061 have a longer foot so you can wrap a gloved hand under it unlike the other raft reels which are tight to the rod more like a fly reel?

Maybe it does not look the same, but there are several different colors and designs of 6061 raft reels, do a google images search to see them all. They are pretty close to the BB, but of course not exact.

But look at the features, you have to admit that the BB is nothing special when you realize these reels have been out for years overseas. All BB did was put a star drag adjustment and a longer reel seat then claimed it was their new invention that will revolutionize ice fishing.

What is the min. order and how many do you need or want to sell. Anyone can become an importer and resell most any product. Wholesale prices to the retail outlets will not net you the same profit margin as selling direct. That is what’s great about this country,,, free enterprise.

FYI… the term 6061 is used mainly because the reels are made from the material 6061 billet aluminum metal.

These raft inline reels have been around for a while now and are the inspiration for the BB 6061 and the EC inline reel. Their the exact same reel or concept.

All 13 Fishing did was took an existing product and tried to make it better geared towards ice fishing. And im glad that did. Cause next year I hope we are flooded with inline reels that have been tweaked for better design control, drag response etc.

This is exactly why I spent $30 on the EC vs $100 on the 6061, the drag system sucks on these 1st gen reels, if they can fix it, i’ll gladly spend more $$ on this type of design..
