LX 6 vs. LX 7

Okay, I’m not going to go digital until next year (I currently use an LX 5) but I thought I was already locked and cocked on the LX 6 due to perceived increased portability. Currently I’m more of a hole hopper than normal but overall I would that I’m 50/50. I was aware of the slightly greater target separation benefit of the 7 and didn’t care. Now, I’m seeing/hearing reports that a) information displayed by the 7 is better, b) size, at least the display size, really does matter, and c) that the increased portability factor of the 6 isn’t all that more noticeable. So for those of you that either own or have used both, what are your thoughts on these two machines?

I currently own two lx-7. They are super nice. I hole hop all the time. I dont really see how the 7 is not as good for it as the 6. I think the reason for 6 is that people could afford a LCD screen for $100 dollars less. Even in the recent shows on IDO you can see that the guys are using their lx-9 to hole hop. If I were you and had that extra money, go with the 7. Thats just my opinion.

Thanks for the perspective Tox. As you could probably tell from my questions, I’m leaning more toward the 7 next year at this point.

I am thinking the same thing next year. Keep the lx5 and get a 7. Do I need it…No Do I want the options and open water ability oh yeah. My 5 is great though.
