Lx6-7 ??

Can someone explain to me what the difference is between automatic and dynamic depth settings is? The dynamic depth feature worked great with the new 3.17 firmware. Correct me if im wrong, I was under the impression the way marcum was marketing the dynamic depth feature is to be able to maximize the screen real estate from top to bottom. Instead, I find that it just automaticly chooses the appropriate range depending on the situation your fishing in. For example im fishing in 10ft of water and in dynamic depth mode it puts me in the 20ft range therefore im just using half and not the entire screen to see the whole water column. What you guys think?

I think we should all go on strike and stop using the dynamic settings all-together and request that marcum add additional static range options. I’d prefer a static 15′, 25′, 30′, 50′ and so on and the hassle of a little extra scrolling than let my overpriced computer tell me what’s up..

My dynamic depth setting seemed to be doing the same thing this weekend. I was fishing in 32 ft and it was on the 40 ft scale in both dynamic and auto. It really didn’t matter for where I was fishing and it all worked great but just seemed wierd that when switching between the two the screen didn’t move at all. I thought dynamic depth would have out the scale around 35 ft or so.

The issues I had with auto range, however, are completely gone with 3.17 and the unit is working awesome. I’m more impressed with this unit every time I use it and you could never get me back into a mechanical flasher again, especially after fishing right next to mechanical flashers the last 3 weekends.

Lol. Yeah, not sure why they went the way they did with the depth scale. I would like to see custom manual depth scale settings on a future update myself. Adjustability at 1ft increments would be killer. Really hope the boys at Marcum take these feedbacks seriously.
