Slush Copter

I recently read about this new slush remover. It’s not something I’d use given most of the time when I’m bouncing around by myself I prefer to make one pass with the auger and 2nd pass with the flasher and rod and reel. Half the holes I drill I don’t take the time to fish in, or de-slush.

It looks like a neat product, and the video was pretty impressive. If I used a drill driver to drill my holes, or had a permanent shack I think it would be a worthwhile investment. I included a link to the video and an article . Has anyone used this yet?

Thought a good rev of the ice auger usually does a good job of cleaning the ice hole. Just dont see a use for one.

Looks like a waste of space to me.

But the site says the buckets full of slush is backbreaking! I don’t find slush that hard to get out. And this just pushes it under the ice? Eventually some ice could make its way back up the hole with a little current or pitch in the bottom of the ice?

Back when I did clean slush from the holes it was just part of the activities of ice fishing. For some odd reason kinda enjoyable. Might have to talk to my therapist about the meaning of that.

I have to admit it did kind of look fun, especially on the clean ice where you could see it shooting out underneath the ice.

I purchased a Slush Copter around xmas time for my perm, and wow, it is impressive. With around 20 or so inches of ice, it takes about 7 seconds to clean the hole. Virtually no slush comes back. I did like the video, and packed all the slush back in the hole, and let her fly. I wouldn’t be with out one!

For a permanent shack I think it would be great, no need to haul the slush outside. Other than that I do not need more stuff to haul out on the ice!!

I just run my auger full bore after I break through and run it up and down once or twice to clean the slush out. In the wheel house, I only drop house halfway when I drill holes and do the same thing. Keeps most of the ice and slush under the house, not in it. And when I drop it the rest of the way and put hole inserts in, it makes the holes nice and banked up.
