LOTW Sunrise

Check out this picture I snapped this morning on Lake of the Woods! It was unbelievable. Taken with my Samsung Galaxy Aviator. We fished for 3 days in a group of 15 with the Winona State fishing Club.. We caught a ton of fish and ate fresh fillets every night. Unfortunately, I caught nothing worth taking pictures of. Some of my buddies iced fish over 20″ but they eluded me. I was able to catch more than enough unders each day to feed myself and take a few home however. Overall the trip was unbelievably fun and the nights were long and filled with gut busting laughs. I just wish the ice wasn’t so thick out there so we could have been a little more mobile.. Either that or that my auger blades were sharper… one of the two We had easily over 20″ of ice everywhere but it seemed like everytime we drilled it was on doubled up ice and we drilled to the powerhead everytime. Overall, great trip, can’t wait to get back!

FDR

We went out of Ford’s Guide service. He didn’t have a road and took us out there in track vehicles. We were just down the way from Long Point Resort. We did drive out on their roads one night and just plop in the middle of the shacks and fish outside. We faired okay there picking up one 20″er and some eaters. It was hard to be mobile with the heaves, ice thickness, and horrible maps. Next time I’m going up early ice, and with better maps!
