OK. After waiting almost all last ice season for my Thorne Bro’s Power Noodle ( Going to also add a TUC noodle as soon as I can hook up with one of the guys to take a look at one.) I now need to find a reel to put on it ( Will need to wait until next season for the Black Betty 6061 ) What reel would all of you suggest I put on it. I have always liked the underspin reels from Zebco ( But they no longer make the one I like ) I have tried several other underspins and all have the same problem – The little pickup pin will not pick up the line well when fishing with real lite line 3 LB or less. All the new reels have a fixed pin and can not be pulled out far enough to work right. So what do all of you use on your Noodle rods – Never been a big fan of spinning reels but willing to give one a try. Don’t want to try a fly reel until I can get my hands on a Black Betty – Unless someone can sell me on one. I want one with a free spool and also a gear ratio for sure.

Pflueger President Micro. It’s well balanced on my Power Noodle.

I have been using a pflueger trion micro on my noodle.. Very nice reel, super smooth drag with light line. I am currently using 2lb suffix ice on my noodle set-up and absolutely love it.

    30″ TUC noodle
    Pflueger Trion 4520
    Suffix ice magic 2lb

    That is my winning combo!

the 40 dollar black betty is JUNK, the 6061 is supposed to be way better but no one has it out to mess with and im thinking thats for a reason. 13fishing gear let me down with that reel, until them i thought all their stuff was original and excited to see what they came out with next… i think they should just stick to rods.
