Besides the Vexilar Pro Pack and the Genz blue box, what other manufactures mass produce any carrying cases for larger locators? I googled a few searches and pretty much blanked on options. Looking for a very light weight unit for tossing my H/Bird 858 on to try the down imaging while I’m waiting on a LX-9.
Cabelas used to have one.
I just customed one out of Ram Mounts to a small enclosure that I can take a lid on and off.

I would go with a blue box. They are a lot sturdier then the above linked box. I plan on using one for my bow unit to make it transportable for my little 14 footer and the walk to boats in Canada. Screw a few pieces of wood to it to make it easier to attach locator base and gps puck. And a couple eyebolts to secure it virtually anywhere with a bungie or 2 (boat seat, atv rack, etc.)
I took an old plano tackle box – mounted the boat adapter stand with wiring on the lid – store the screen unit inside the tackle box when transporting – have 2 12 volt batteries inside with storage for the 110 volt charger and an electric trolling motor adapter ring for the transducer – use an old Lowrance green box transducer transom mount rod to hold the transducer when ice fishing or when using the depth finder in a boat with no electric trolling motor. The 2 batteries give me about 4 days fishing time on remote fly-in lakes.
