Will a Quad & Otter cabin fit on a 5×10 trailer?

So i’m looking at getting single 5’x10′ low rail ramped trailer for my ice fishing setup (my flipover is too heavy to get into the SUV trunk by myself) Will this size trailer hold a full size Yamaha Grizzly 550 driven straight up the ramp (not sideways)plus an Otter Pro Cabin ice house pushed in sideways together? The quad is 6′ 7″ long and the Otter Cabin is 36″ wide, so in theory they should fit, but the Otter cabin is 65″ long I’m assuming at the top of the sled edge? will it fit sitting sideways on the trailer within the rails? will this allow enough room to close the ramp? I would rig a simple cargo net attached to the trailer rails to go over the otter when traveling.

If this fits, it will make life so much easier just pulling the otter down the ramp and then backing the quad down and driving off..

This is the type of trailer I was thinking about:

Nope. At least not on my Big Tex. However a side by side sled trailer they both will fit.

    I see they are getting around 2k for a 5′ X 10′ big tex nowdays. For another $500-$800 you can get into a 6.9′ X 14′ (or 6.9′ X 16′) 6,000# trailer.

What about parking the ATV to one side, flipping the Otter on it’s side, loading it lengthwise and tilting it up against the ATV? Seems like that would work but you would probably need to unload the sled. Either way, they’re going to pick up a ton of road grit.

I put my Otter in my capped pick-up bed when I tow my ATV and simply load and unload it over the front of the trailer. It’s pretty easy, but if you’re trying to do this without a truck, maybe not so much.

no pickup truck, just a midsized SUV (Highlander)…I’m thinking everything should fit in the trailer the way I described it (other than the top lip of the otter will hang over the side a few inches) if road grit becomes a problem, I could throw a tarp over the entire trailer..

I could also rig a small board ramp with rollers and go from inside the suv down to the trailer when the quads off first, then load the Otter first when going home..

I would suggest that as well. No road salt, more secure during travel and more secure from thieves. We fit two ATV’s into a 14′ a couple of weeks ago. You would easily be able to fit one ATV and your otter into one.

What are you seeing for prices on this trailer?

I only have so much room in the garage with the boat in there for the winter…5’x 10′ is about as big as I can go…again this is trying to get the flipover out of my SUV rear cargo area and everything on one trailer.

I have the biggest otter sled (Resort) they make, and have a Kawasaki 400, and it fits my 6×10 perfect, with no room between the tailgate and the sled (in back of 4 wheeler).

Opt for a 6×10 trailer. Load my Kodiak sideways up front and Clam Yukon across the back.

My father in law has a trailer like that. His holds 2 4-wheelers. He made ramps that go from the truck to the trailer so he can hook up to the flip overs tow hitch and pull it right down the ramps onto the trailer and onto the ice when you drive off the trailer. All we have to do is pull it onto the ramps from the pickup bed which is easy. Then hook the tow bar to the wheeler and off we go. Just another Idea.

I modified mine. 1 foot wider on each side and in front of the tires.also added a side loading ramp. Drive the quad on sideways and put the clam in from the back. Works great.

I have a 5 1/2 X 10 trailer and my Artic Cat 700 TRV and my Frabil Treker max fit on it perfectly.
