I may be asking for punishment. Instead of giving up on Marcum, I just ordered an LX-5. I sure hope I have better luck with it

Sometime during the night my unit reached full charge so that would be somewhere in the 30-36 hour range if the supplied charger is accurate. Hope to get use out of it after I pick the boy up from school. We will see how it compares to my lx3tc.

That a boy!! If you fall off the horse, get right back up on it. Oh by the way I have a lx-5 and love it.

Hopefully it’ll work well for you. Mine worked awesome for two hours or so. There are many really positive reviews on them. That’s why I didn’t give up on Marcum. Hopefully I’ll have better luck with the LX-5 I ordered

Yeah, I was a little annoyed. No hard feelings though. I didn’t just come here to hate. It’s a pretty cool forum. I’m looking forward to getting out on the ice with the LX-5!

Worked great with some nice largemouth and crappie to boot! I am sure your LX-5 will do just fine.

I owe this post to the folks at marcum and anyone considering buying one. To recap: The VX-1 worked great for a couple hours, then went to crap. When I adjusted my gain enough to see my jig, there was tons of “interference”. My friend went rto that spot last night with a camera. Turns out that the “interference” was indeed baitfish. Tons of them! Of course I feel like a dumb***! I would have rather stayed quit instead of admitting it, but that wouldn’t be fair to anyone.

Thanks for stepping up and letting us know what you found out. You shouldn’t feel like a dumbass, because I guarantee you every single one of us have had baitfish come in and screw with us.

Just wait until you find a school of shad with that thing, the whole flasher will light up red/orange and your heart will start pounding… then you jig for 20 minutes and nothing happens. Damn shad.

Also I see this as a perfect example of marcum vs vexilar. Your buddy didnt see any of that baitfish, but you saw them with your marcum. Now you can look at it two ways.
    1. marcum is too sensitive and its annoying having your screen full of baitfish clutter.
    2. marcum lets you see the baitfish and follow them which will almost always lead to finding fish.
