So I just ran these two flashers and I have to say the 2.9 blew 3.01 away. I had multiple issues with the dynamic mode on the 3.01. No issues with 2.9. Anyone else has issues.

IF the new version is worse than the old one, currently on mine, then I will switch back to a Vexilar! My unit did more changes today by itself I was ready to call a Priest to get the DEMONS out of it! I have a love hate relationship with the LX7,today I hated it…Great unit when it works correctly… Paul

I had the same feelings towards my LX6. I ended up returning it. I felt that for $600, it should work well right out of the box. All the bells and whistles are nice when they work, but in the end, I reached the conclusion that my Showdown works just as well for everything I do.

It seems that new versions of a good share of software products (including all brands and products) are released before they have been completely de-bugged. I think doing business that way is wrong, just plan wrong. What ever happened to quality control and pride in your product. It seems the business model now is to get it on the market as fast as possible and let the public tell us where the bugs are.
you can not downgrade..i asked… A NEW UPDATE WILL BE OUT THIS WEEK so as long as people can live with the hiccups for a few more days the issues should be solved..the new update will not be 3.01 that is currently on some units but a new and improved (tested) software..

I guess I dont understand why they would put a 3.01 on the new LX-7’s if it is worse than 2.90.
I have my LX-7 dialed in tight right now for the main lakes that I fish, it did take some time on the water last winter to get it there though. My buddy is sitting 20′ away with his vex telling me he has nice fish and I’m looking at the LX-7 and saying NO YOU DONT they are little guys, guess what he starts ripping 5″ whitebass out of the holes. I am done with Vexilars blob marks.

I’ve had the same experience with my buddy also! Each time he marks a fish, the mark is the size Montana on the dial and says it’s a big fish! One time he made me drop my pole, run over about 30 yards, pull his ducer out only to be greeted by a 17″ walleye. Then he goes, “I thought it was bigger”.
my guess is they came out with 3.01 to have the chart zoom and new menus, not figuring it would have all the issues…last year a mid season update was great, hopefully the same this year!
