Noooooooooo! Thorne Bros Rod Gone…….

I lost my favorite Thorne Bros Walleye Sweetheart down the damn hole today! I’m just bummed out! It went down like a rocket. I’m not sure WTF happened. I swear a big pike ripped her in because I sat back down after catching a perch on the bobber rod and boom it was going down the hole like a rocket!

I set it straight up with it sitting in the bottom of the port, I left my jig suspened off bottom as I reeled in the boober rod. Sat back down and it was gone, not sure if I sat on the tip and she sprung up and just so happened to go straight down the hole or what.

Even worse Thorne Bros has no walleye or perch rods in stock! I knew I was dooooomed after reading the lost gear stories..

Wow that stinks! Did you try a big jigging spoon to see if you could snag the line? If you just dropped it down you should have been able to hook it. I’d bet a pike or cat hit it and ran.

They had lots of thorne rods on the rack today. Not sure if any are what you are looking for.

    That hurts!
If you have an underwater camera, drill a bunch of holes & start searching the area. That’s what I would do.

Yea I tried to snag it. Who knows where it layed to rest. Yea I would be interested in the walleye rod. Pm me details of the rod..size, inside or outside recoils? It is what it is…I’m more bummed out I can not go get the same rod tomorrow lol

Whenever I leave any icefishing pole unattended, meaning out of my grubby hands, dead sticking or tipdowns,I open the bail.I lost a cheapy a few years ago and was upset about a $15 set up! I have chased poles down almost heading in the lake too. I have seen way too many others loose thier set ups. Pole out of hands, open bail… I do feel your pain! Paul

Someone should come up with a anchor that doesn’t get in the way. Wait a second….forget I said anything. Continue.

I have seen a few go down the hole. But have always had good luck with a jigging rap. They shoot out to the side pretty well.

They had 6 perch 28″ rods last night on the back side of the display. I held one of them.

That sucks, this past spring my dad caught a jig pole while we were open water jigging for Walleyes. Sure was funny when he thought he had a fish and reeled up a jig pole!!!!
