Had a chance to finally test drive the new Otter shack for an afternoon. I ran into a couple shady characters as well. Long story short, slow overall bite for us. Very cold out and a great day to test out the new gear. With single # temps, these guys had their coats off in short orde once the Otter & heater were set. They even had a cribbage game or two! Fun day out & thanks guys!

You would have caught more fish had you had the Lx-5 manual with you. Those two hooligans are no help.

Great to see you sitting in an Otter vs. perched on the front end of a boat! Nice fish guys!

Good update- I hear people say all the time, does that Thermal shell really make a difference? YES, it does!! The heater has to be turned down to low…

A fish is better than no fish! Nice pics..

Looks like a great way to spend a cold day on the ice without freezing your kahoona’s off.

Very true BK, it was my first outing in deeper water with the LX5 as well. I was a bit late to the party learning the zoom and fine line features it has to offer. My origingal FL8 from year one has served me well, but dang this new stuff is awesome!

Nice to see you on the ice Dean. If I had to guess those look like Mill Lacs eyes? As you said the zoom feature is great ,but the best part is that it is adjustable which is awesome when chasing slabs

They don’t condensate at all like non insulated one. I have a foam floor in mine I can fish in t shirt and non insulated boots on coldest days with a little buddie heater very warm in side top to bottom. With out floor you have to ware ice cleats melts ice standing in water in no time.

I like the victory celebration Dean. What a great way to bring in the new year. Walleyes, lots of laughs with good friends and Dean whooping Tony in cribbage.
