Met the firstborn for a day last week ,and headed to low for the day. We fished 28′ away from any shacks. It was a fun day watching Sam glued to the LX-5. We or should I say she caught plenty of fish , but never did see a big mark ,but on this day we were more about the action.
We purchased a insulated Otter this year ,and am very happy with it. We have always been a sunflower heater team for fishing in the Northwoods , but so far with the insulated shack a Buddy heater is all we needed . Is it nice to have a normal quite conversation without the noise of the heater blaring.
Back to the fishing . Sam fished both a slender spoon ,and a buckshot tip with half a minnow and caught fish on both with a slight edge to the gold with green tape slender. She was getting fish to rise to about six feet above bottom before they would smack it so we switched to the larger zoom window on the Marcum. Sam is already planning another trip ,and I hope to get her on some Donk crappies with Rainydaze in the new year

Nice, only a few more years and I’ll be getting the little one out there as well. Great when the kids get excited about fishing.

No pics of Tucker’s fish, I guess he must have got out fished by his sister!

I have to keep some of my pride with this pic, however she did out fish both me and my dad that day, she is really starting to get good! but it is funny how my dad doesn’t mention the 9 to 1 catch ratio on the crappie beatdown done by the son on the first day
