Sunday one of my reels had Sufix Ice Magic 6lb neon orange and another had Berkley Fireline Micro Ice 8lb black. I was not impressed with the fireline as far as freezing goes. The Sufix did get some ice buildup but stayed pretty soft. Overall I was impressed with the Sufix over the Fireline.
Johnny, the comparison isn’t quite fair, but I’m going to say I prefer the sufix too. 
Or, are you talking about the orange performance ice braid?
The Ice Magic is Mono.
I’m still a bit of a newbie… Will braid or whatever fireline is freeze up more than mono?
Yeah, any fused or braided line has a much greater porosity, thus more water retention and freeze-up issues compared to the polymer lines.
