good question, its not too deep but that acreage could have delayed freezing. might need to check that one soon.

December 20, 2012 at 8:06 pm #1122412I was thinking the same thing! Im waiting on a phone call i will let u know.
December 21, 2012 at 12:00 am #1122497Yup, I was just out there yesterday, I went out on the south end of the lake off of County Road H. There Was about 4″ of ice everywhere. I fished from 8-17′ of water, I was out from 3-6 p.m. and caught like 7 small perch & 3 bluegills. I had tip-ups out for walleye, also was jiggin for eyes, but didn’t have any luck. There were 8 other people out on the ice, everyone had their limit of tip-ups out, but only a few of those people were jiggin for panfish. I didn’t see anyone else catch anything.
This was my first time on this lake, do people normally do fairly good fishing for walleye & panfish here? I drilled probably like 35 holes & was hopping all over, only thing that ever really showed on the Vex were bottom hugging perch. I started my presentation using a Sliver/red Slender Spoon, but never had any thing come up or hit my lure. That’s when I dropped a Fiska down & caught perch.

were you on any of the cribs?
No I was unaware that there were any? I was using both my Sportsman Connection Lake Map book & Navionics app to navigate around the lake. A friend referred the lake to me, so I decided to give it a try. PM me if you’d like to give me a few pointers about the lake & don’t want everyone else knowing. Thanks
December 21, 2012 at 12:18 am #1122511I carried two poles with me at all times, and dropped both baits down every hole. I first dropped the slender spoon down, if nothing committed after a while then I dropped the one with the Fiska down to see if they were just perch or bluegill.

@wannabefishing I wouldn’t mind giving Cedar another try. I only have my car & one man here in RF right now, because I haven’t been back home since thanksgiving. I have everything here except my 2 man Otter tho: rods, Jigs, hand & power auger, & Snosuit.
December 21, 2012 at 2:04 am #1122538Yea I was using walleye suckers as well. Guess I will have to give the Green/Silver slender spoon a try next time I go.

I totally agree. That would be awesome, with all of us we should be able to target some fish.
December 21, 2012 at 6:37 am #1122586Yes. It worked out for me last year. I am talking about the cribs off the point or on the west side of the lake. Never fished the cribs much on the south side by h. The ones on the westside worked well this summer. Hopefully they will still have some this winter.
