I have basically the best of both worlds in my Eskimo Eskape. It has a 40/20/40 split bench and I can remove the center 20 and replace it with the included table top that makes for a nice work surface.

the bench is nice if you want to lay down and take a snooze but usually the individual seats are more comfortable.

Contoured back support. You will love it.
Also add a low profile swivel to the operation it will sit a bit higher for longer legs and be easier to spin to reach things in the tub.

    Chuck –

Great point!! Need lumbar support in the Lazy Boy.

The “tub” is always a half arms length away . I hate when people buy beer that has bottles that required an opener.

No need to “stay thirsty my friend”

I feel like I have more room on the boat seats, it’s like the bench takes up too much space.

I have a bench in my Eskimo and love it. Little more room to adjust if needed, can slide a little for different length rods, and can take both my boys and dad. It has a backrest, too for when hunching over the hole gets a little much.

I have the older (green) Eskimo quick flip II that has the bench. I am mostly a walk out fisherman and weight makes a big difference to me so last year I took the bench out and used a camping bag style chair. It seems like it works well and is comfortable but getting in and out a lot is difficult because you sit so for down in the chair. I think I might put the bench back in and just deal with the extra weight. Any ideas on this style (green Eskimo) shack?

Same one I have. I’m happy with it, but yeah, it is heavy.

Does the bench really restrict your access to what is in the tub?

I just put the bench back in my shack and figured I would give it another shot before thinking about doing boat seats.

Love the bench seat in my older Frabill XL Twin. Great to set things down like lures, rods, reels, snacks, , and other things.

Was really surprised I felt this way but would do it again.

i voted bench seat, but not a stock bench seat. the stock bench seats are junk. with a custom bench seat that my buddies and i have built, your feet are inside the tub while fishing, 5gal pails fit under it when traveling, and it will lay flat so you can strap the auger down when traveling also. the only drawback is a stock cover don’t fit due to the hight of the seat. the fix is a blue tarp and a bunge, way cheaper than a stock cover anyway. i guess that isn’t a drawback

My Eskimo Pro 150 has a sliding bench. I like it, with a stadium seat for back support, because I can slide it all the way back and have my feet in the tub. Keeps my feet warmer and gives me a lot more room to fish with. My buddy has a 2 man Clam and removed the seats and made a sliding bench seat, too. It works great! Boat seats are nice, but I’m pretty comfortable with my set up, too. The trade off for more fishing room makes it worth it for me.

How much extra weight does something like that add?
