Made it out on Mille Lacs today! Saw 5 to 7 inches of ice, fishing was not great but it was great to be out, and shake the rust off, and try out some new equipment!

What new equipment are you most exited to try out this year?

I’d be very careful on the Mille Lacs ice right now. Hunters reported ice 2-3″ thick out about 200 yards and then it dropped to 1.5″ thick. Also heard from a buddy with a cabin on Wahkon Bay that a sled and an atv went for a swim in Wahkon Bay yesterday. I got the ice fishing itch but I think I’m going to wait and let mother nature make some more ice before I venture out on Mille Lacs

Good luck out there Bryan. Be in contact should “stupid-walleyes” confound your panfish-finding efforts! We’ll take care of them for you….

Sorry Joel no walleyes they apperently are hanging with the crappies and bluegills. And I don’t know we’re that is!

The NAIFC tourney got changed to just Isle bay do to ice conditions. We are cutting 5 to 7 inches of good ice lots of wheelers and sleds.
