So I NEED to get on some ice this weekend, I have the whole weekend and I’m willing to drive a few hours (Live in champlin, MN) wondering if anyone knows about ice conditions in Brainerd? Alexandria? Duluth? Grand Rapids? Any info would be helpful.

There has been some recent posts about Red Lk recently…Sounds like enough ice to walk one.

Might want to contact a few of the resorts up there.

I read a post today from a guy on Vermilion that took his 4-wheeler and had 7.5″ where he fished. They only got 3″ snow while we got hammered down here.

Arnesens on LOW pulled their fish houses out today and are fishing people (escorted via tracker and heated trailer) out to some fish.

    Game on up there.

I think many if the east central lakes are walkable. I was hoping to get up 35E this weekend to give it a shot.

Just got back from Red Lake.Plenty of ice. They were just starting to pull out the big houses yesterday. We had 10″ to 12″ inches on the south shore at Roger’s. Limited out on 14 to 19.5 nothing big but lots of fish.It was better with the storm comming in,then it started to slow down.8 to 10 ft.

Just head north, stop when you get to Lake of the Woods give it a try for a day and fish your way back home.

Ice at the bar is always cold and plentiful.
