Does anyone know if StrikeMaster will be continuing their blade exchange services now that they joined teams to make Ice Force? If they do can you inform us of the price & how to go about doing the exchange? Or do they only sell Replacement blades now?

There is a blade shrpening service at RedRockstore for 9.95. I have not used it but have ordered from them in the past.

I purchased a Work Sharp sharpener this year and am curious to see if it works with my StrikeMaster Lazer blades. The Work Sharp uses belts and is amazing when it comes to sharpening everything else I’ve tried so far.

I know that getting the angle exactly right is what sharpening Lazer blades is all about – so I dunno if it’ll work or not. Heck, my blades are already crazy dull, so I don’t have much to lose by trying it.

I’ll give a report to let you guys know if it works or not.

Do a web search for Jackpine and blade sharpening. Better than brand new.
I have sent him new blades before. North of Chicago.

Could you keep us posted on how that works out!? I am anxious to hear! I have been considering buying a Tormek system. I do some woodworking in my free time and that thing is just what the doctor ordered when it comes to plane blades and chisels. The only hangup I have with the auger blades is that they are arched. Not sure how this would work out.

4 Season Sports owner has another side to his business called Bladerunner. He has been resharpening blades (Ralph Diercks started the business) and delivering them all over Mn and Wi for many years. You can get the resharpened blades at 4 Seasons or send me a pm where you are and I will find someone close to you who carries them Cost is about 1/2 what new ones cost and they are as good as new.
    Thanks, Chris WInchester

I took a stab at sharpening my 8″ Lazer blades with the Work Sharp belt sharpener. After puting what seemed to be a good edge back on the blades, I reinstalled them and ventured over to the nearest ice for some test drills. It cut pretty good…yet there’s only 3 inches of ice, so it’s hard to gauge exactly how good it cut. It was making “snow” before, and seemed to be tearing up the ice much better now.

I need more ice before I can say with confidence that my sharpening vastly improved things.
