I am planning to make a ice fishing trip to LOTW. Is there safe ice on the lake?

View the post from Adrians Resort. Dec 5th ice conditions. Doesn’t sound promising.

Fred’s Beds just told me that the bays are frozen over but the main lake isn’t ready.

From what I heard, I’d wait until the following week in regards to better ice. Also, my source says the water is fairly cloudy and fishing wasn’t that good.

Sounds like the wind was blowing some ice around today on the big lake.

Yeah, just heard that the ice “left town”, a big sheet is heading north acros the lake. May be a while now.

Yep, that video tells the current story!
I hope those larger sheets of ice don’t get forced down under new ice like they did a few years back.
Anyone else remember trying to drop your jig down to find out you could only get it a few feet down and there lied another ice sheet underneath.
Caused the resorts and fisherman of all total grief and Kayos!

Do all the people that fish lotw have atvs and snowmobiles to get around the lake. Or there are spots that you can walk to and still do some good icing.

What was the solution? Did they just have to drill down with an extension, or move altogether?
