I have a Strikemaster Lazer Mag that has been used one season. Over the summer I ran it about every 3 weeks. Today I put fresh gas in it. It starts up fine but if I try and let it idle it will die. If I run it as if I were drilling a hole and then let off the gas, it dies. Anyone have any insight on this? I appreciate any advice or troubleshooting clues. Thanks.

Tweak the adjustment on the low end of the carb. That’s a walbro carb and the low end on the carb is closest to the motor. The tool you need looks like this on the end. D

I had the exact same problem with my Jiffy 30. Only mine is 20+ years old. I tried tuning the carb myself and it didn’t do much to help. A new carb kit fixed the problem.

Try the least expensive option first and tune the carb.

my jiffy 30 was the same way. adjusted it back to factory settings and tuned from there. even at factory settings, it was much better than where it was. i think over time it worked itself loose.

That happens quite often on smallengines. the older styles anyways alot of the knew designs have a plastic keeper that locks the jets in place. Downfall is you need a special tool to adjust them.
