I am patiently awaiting my new BB 6061 reel in my mailbox and was wondering what type of rods anyone will be using? Also what line would be best on this new reel? Thanks in advance and hope it arrives soon! Thanks again Dean.

I have mine mounted on a 36″ TuC Precision. Feels good and I’m looking forward to a proper test on the ice later this week.

DO you have to use backing of some sort?

You can if you want to but its really isnt needed.

I will also be puting my BB 6061 on TUC 36″ precision ice split handle. The other one will go on my 26″ DH Perch Pounder.

I have the EC inline reels mounted on ultra light and noodle rods.

so whats with everyone using TUC rods now?? Never hear a peep about thorne bros anymore. Perch SH is still the best ice rod ever conceived imo.

Options are good. I don’t think anyone is going to argue too much about T.B. rod quality. But, saying the perch is best ever conceived is a pretty wide stance..

I’m thinking of putting one on a thorne deadstick, use the stiction knob to it’s fullest to achieve the minnow drop of doom. Typically my dad would try and trim his ice busters ever slightly too short to get a slow sink rate.

Or, you could put it in the rod rocker and set it in free spool with the clicker on. Maybe take a little nap? This thing has some serious deadstick potential IMO.

    TUC Precision 30 inch noodle.

Worked pretty darn good on a walleye last nite too.
