Been off all week from work and since there is no ice I decided that my Oregon GPS was too small to see when moving across the ice on my sled. Guess I may be getting a little old. I went to my boat and took off the Humminbird 788I and mounted it on my sled. Ran the power line and installed an inline fuse and she is up and running. The nice thing about the Humminbird is that it has a quick disconnect so I can just take it off and take it inside when done fishing. Here’s a pic of it up and running. This should be easier to see and the map is a lot better than was on my Oregon.

Did the same thing with my LMS 520. 5″ screen is definitely way better than most any handheld.

It snows enough to ride a snowmobile in Indiana?

Did the same about a month ago with my 797C on my ARGO Conquest. It will help a great deal. Good luck this year.

Mojogunter, I was born and raised in Northern Indiana, average snowfall totals are higher than probably most of Minnesota due to Lake Effect Storms. I think South Bend, IN averages high 60’s close to 70 inches. Only difference is the air temps fluctuate much more and thus the snow usually doesn’t pile up. The sun usually cleans the pavement up after it snows, unlike I have found here in MN. It is also usually very wet snow from the lake influence or moisture rich gulf influence. Lots of “heart attack” snow.
