Has anyone been out in local lakes if so and what ice have you found?

In the west metro I keep finding plenty of ice, it just happens to be mixed with a little whiskey and cola.

I’m guessing we still got a while locally. Hoping for 6 to 8 inches around Christmas.

Checked ice at favorite metro small lake last night. No good. It couldnt support our weight at all from shore. Looked a little thick out 15 feet but couldnt make it to that. With the weather we are having its going to slide backwards and put us off until next good cold streak.

Nothing too good so far that I have noticed. Many lakes wide open. They all seem to have a little bit on the edges but thats about it. Buffalo had a good skim a good portion of the North side however the wind blew some of that in and now with the warm weather its gonna be a bit. I drive by these lakes everyday, so I will keep an eye on them or go ahead and shoot me a private message.

    Thanks,

    Jake
