We had a good freeze a couple weeks back, than the balmy weather came and killed most of the ice, we had two good cold night, one was below zero and that capped everything again.
Another warming trend has me shaking my head. A lot of our ice is IFFY!! I’ve been checking a few and haven’t seen anything worth fishing, or risking to fish on. 2-3″ and not worth a plunge.
However after work today I checked another lake, North Twin, near Naytahwush.. I was able to get out over a 100 yards from shore and I found 3″+ of solid ice. I’m thinking tomorrow I will get off a little early and do a little exploring with the ‘Bird and see if I can find anything that’s biting.
